Since 2005

The Allianz Arena has been Bayern's stadium since 2005. It was built in Fröttmaning, in the north of Munich, to a design by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, and its façade of inflatable panels lights up in red, white or blue. Until 2017 it was shared with TSV 1860, which sold its half to Bayern in 2006. It holds 75,024 spectators for league matches and hosted the 2012 Champions League final, Euro 2024 and the 2025 Champions League final.

The fans

Bayern's organised supporters gather in the Südkurve, the stand behind the goal that was born on 2 August 1972 at the Olympiastadion, during a derby against TSV 1860, and that followed the club to the Allianz Arena, where the Südkurve has more than 9,000 standing places. The city's big match is the Munich derby against TSV 1860: the first one was played in 1902 and ended 3-0 to Bayern. Nationally, its great rival is Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker, a fixture played in the Bundesliga since 1965 that often decides the title.
