Wine-red adidas shirt with dark sleeves and Opel on the chest, launched in 2001 for the Bundesliga and worn until 2003; in the Champions League the club stuck with a red shirt, the same one in which it had won the 2001 final. In 2001-02 Bayern won the Intercontinental Cup against Boca Juniors in Tokyo, lost the UEFA Super Cup to Liverpool and finished third in the league.
