Based on several clear photos.
It is a modern version of the so-called battlements crest (Zinnenwappen): a green W shaped like a castle, with three crenellated towers, inside a white circle surrounded by a thin ring. The W is inspired by a castle and the crest uses the club's green and white. The club unveiled it on May 9, 2026, ahead of the season's last home match against Bayern.

- What changed
- It replaces the round logo the club used for 24 years, since 2002, and brings back the battlements crest, the most widely used symbol in the club's history. The design was refined: proportions and spacing were balanced, the battlements were unified, the middle tower was adjusted to read better at small sizes, and the outer circle followed a fixed rule. On the kit the change is gradual: the previous logo remains on the 2026-27 shirts and the new crest will be permanent from 2027-28.
