The Evžena Rošického stadium stands on Strahov hill, in Prague, next to the huge Great Strahov Stadium, and is named after a Czech athlete of the anti-Nazi resistance who was executed in 1942. It was Slavia's home between August 2000 and May 2008, while the new Eden was being built. There the team beat Ajax 2-1 on 29 August 2007 and qualified for the Champions League group stage for the first time. It had already hosted Slavia's European matches before, such as the first leg of the 1996 UEFA Cup semi-final against Bordeaux. In December 2022 it was closed because of serious defects in its steel structure.
