The old Eden stadium, in Vršovice, was Slavia's home from 27 September 1953, when the club had to leave Letná. It held around 38,000 spectators, almost all standing, and the first goal there was scored by Josef Bican. In 1989 demolition of its old stands began to make way for a new stadium, and in those years the team sometimes played at other grounds in Prague. The last match was played on 13 May 2000, a 4-1 win over České Budějovice; the stadium was demolished in 2003 and the current Fortuna Arena was built in its place.
