adidas shirt from the 1989-90 season, the first with the sponsor of the car maker that replaced Fate, which debuted in the superclásico at the Bombonera. River were champions of the Primera 1989-90 and at the end of the tournament, on 20 May 1990, unveiled the red sash on the back as well. In those years the crest hardly appeared on the shirt: Caloi's lion was retired in 1989.
