Racing first played there on April 18, 1993, winning 3-2 against Atlético de Madrid B, and the official opening came on August 29 of that year. It stands on the shore of the Ría de Ferrol, within a municipal sports complex, and it was designed by five architects. After promotion in 2023 it was adapted to LaLiga's requirements, a renovation that won an ESSMA award in the safety category.
