The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, known as San Siro after the district where it stands, has been Inter's home since 1947 and is shared with Milan. It was promoted by Milan president Piero Pirelli and opened on 19 September 1926 with a derby between the two clubs; in 1935 it passed to the city council, which expanded it. In 1955 it gained a second tier, and for the 1990 World Cup a third tier and the roof; today it has 75,817 seats, the largest capacity in Italy. Since 1980 it has borne the name of Giuseppe Meazza, an idol of both clubs. In November 2025 Inter and Milan bought it from the city council for around 197 million euros and plan to build a new stadium next to it.

The fans
Inter's organised support occupies the Curva Nord at San Siro, where the oldest group, the Boys San, was born in 1969; since 2022 almost all the groups have come together as Curva Nord Milano 1969. Their great derby is the Derby della Madonnina against Milan, which takes its name from the statue of the Virgin on the Duomo and is always played in the same stadium: Milan's supporters occupy the Curva Sud. Another historic rivalry is with Juventus, the so-called Derby d'Italia, a name coined by the journalist Gianni Brera in 1967 that grew more intense after Calciopoli. Traditionally Inter were seen as the club of the Milanese bourgeoisie and Milan as the club of the workers, a distinction that has now all but disappeared. The supporters have been twinned with Lazio's since 1989.
