Based on partial or low-quality photos.
Crest shaped like an old-style football with its stitching, an idea present since the club's first photograph in 1903. It bears “Grêmio” in the centre, “1903” above and “FBPA” below, topped by three stars in bronze, silver and gold. Its current form was settled in 1993.

- What changed
- It keeps the 1963 base, when the word “Grêmio” replaced “Foot-Ball” in the centre and “1903” and “FBPA” were added. It retains the three stars added in 1985. Since the 2004 statute, the bronze star represents national and regional titles, the silver one continental titles and the gold one the world title. The current geometry and typeface were fixed in 1993.
