## From Athletic Club to the City's Club Organised football in Cipolletti is almost as old as the city itself. In 1912, when the settlement was still called Colonia Lucinda, a group of pioneers formed the Cipolletti Athletic Club and chose black and white, the colours the club has never abandoned. La Visera de Cemento is the stadium of Club Cipolletti and stands inside the club's social headquarters, on Mengelle street, in the city of Cipolletti. It is the home of the Albinegro in the regional league, in the Nacionales of the 1970s and 1980s and in the Torneo Federal A. There Cipolletti beat Boca Juniors 4-2 in 1978 in the 1977 Nacional, and it hosted the Argentina national team in 1978. It had an artificial pitch for years and later went back to natural grass thanks to a campaign backed by contributions from the members. In 2026 it drew some 10,000 people for the second leg of the Federal A quarter-final.

The fans

Cipolletti supporters call themselves «albinegros» and follow the team in huge numbers on the big occasions. In the closing stages of the 2026 Federal A, nearly 10,000 people went to La Visera for the second leg of the quarter-final against Sol de América, and thousands travelled in a convoy of coaches to San Francisco (Córdoba) for the final. Their great regional rival is Deportivo Roca, with whom they contest a long-standing Alto Valle derby in the Federal A and the Copa Argentina.
