The centenary shirt: Umbro hoops with the CR Smith sponsorship and, from January 1988, a commemorative crest with the Celtic cross of the first shirt. In its 100th year Celtic won the league, with only three defeats in 44 matches, and the Scottish Cup, beating Dundee United 2-1 in the final. In Europe it fell in the first round of the UEFA Cup to Borussia Dortmund.
