It was Viking's ground until 2003, closer to central Stavanger than the current stadium. Its attendance record, 18,892 spectators, came on October 4, 1959 in the cup semi-final in which Viking thrashed Odd 4-0, and it was never beaten while the club played there. After the move in 2004 it was refurbished and today it is an athletics stadium.
