This was Racing's ground on the corner of Alsina y Colón, in Avellaneda, on land belonging to the Ferrocarril del Sud railway that the club only bought in 1944. It had wooden plank stands and, after the 1928-29 renovation, room for some 50,000 people. On 17 July 1916 it hosted the last match of the first South American Championship, today's Copa América, a 0-0 draw between Argentina and Uruguay. Its last official match was against Rosario Central, after which it was demolished to build El Cilindro on the same site.
