Sky blue and white striped shirt by Topper, the brand that had kitted out Racing since the Apertura 1995, with Multicanal advertising. In it the team finished 4th in the Apertura 1996 and 7th in the Clausura 1997. In the 1997 Copa Libertadores it knocked out River Plate and Peñarol, before falling in the semi-finals to Sporting Cristal.
