“Continental”-style white shirt made by Umbro, with a V-neck and short sleeves, which England first wore on November 10, 1954 against Wales at Wembley and used at the 1958 World Cup in Sweden. In the group stage England drew all three matches: 2-2 with the USSR, 0-0 with Brazil (the first goalless draw in World Cup history) and 2-2 with Austria. They were eliminated after losing the play-off 1-0 to the USSR in Gothenburg.
