Woven white wool shirt, with the three lions crest embroidered on the chest, worn in the first official international match in history: Scotland 0-0 England, on November 30, 1872 at Hamilton Crescent (Partick, Glasgow). At the time the players probably provided their own shirts. An original example, that of forward Arnold Kirke Smith, is preserved at the National Football Museum in Manchester.
