It was opened in November 1932 with a 4-2 win for Coritiba over América. It was called Estádio Belfort Duarte until 1977, when it took the name of former president Antônio Couto Pereira, who had driven its construction. It stands in the Alto da Glória neighbourhood and holds around 40,000 people.
