Nike's so-called “pyjama shirt”, with yellow and white vertical stripes: it was the last time white had a prominent place on BVB's home shirt until 2026-27. On the chest it carried only a stylised exclamation mark, because the name Evonik, the company that emerged from the former Ruhrkohle AG, had not yet been made public. The team finished ninth in the Bundesliga and Alexander Frei was the top scorer with 17 goals.
