The Emirates Stadium opened in July 2006 with Dennis Bergkamp's testimonial match against Ajax and replaced Highbury as Arsenal's home. Its construction began in 2004 and cost around 390 million pounds. As well as the club's matches, it has frequently hosted friendlies of the Brazil national team.
