Shirt from the founding season: Herbert Kilpin created Milan on 16 December 1899 and chose red «like fire» and black «like fear». The first shirts looked almost like jackets, with buttons, and their only emblem was a small white shield with the red cross, the symbol of the city of Milan. The first Italian championship came on 5 May 1901, with a 3-0 win over Genoa in the final; the recreation shows a shirt collar and long sleeves.
